Today's Agent Skill: New Hire 30-60-90 Day Onboarding Plan Generator
What It Does
The first 90 days determine whether a new employee becomes a confident, self-sufficient contributor or a costly mis-hire — and most small businesses leave that outcome to chance because they don't have time to build a proper onboarding structure. A clear 30-60-90 day plan sets expectations, reduces the time-to-productivity gap, and prevents the anxiety that causes new hires to quit in the first month.
How It Works
The agent takes a job title, core responsibilities, and key skills the employee needs to master, then generates a week-by-week onboarding plan for all 13 weeks of the first quarter. It produces a phase narrative, a milestone checklist for the manager, and a progress tracker template the employee updates weekly — all tailored to the specific role and team structure.
How to Deploy It
Run this skill in Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, or Windsurf before your new hire's start date. Share the week-by-week plan with the new employee on their first day and store the progress tracker in Notion, Google Docs, or your project management tool. Schedule a 15-minute weekly check-in at the start to walk through it together.

## Description
Creates a customized 30-60-90 day onboarding plan for a new employee — including a week-by-week task schedule, a manager milestone checklist, and a 13-week progress tracker template — tailored to the specific job role and business context.
## Trigger
Invoke when the user says "create an onboarding plan," "plan the first 90 days for a new hire," "my new employee starts Monday," or provides a job title and start date for an incoming team member.
## Input
- Job title and main day-to-day responsibilities
- Team size and who the new hire will work with or report to
- 3–5 key skills or processes they must be independent in by day 90
- Any existing training materials, SOPs, or software they need to learn
- Check-in preference: daily, weekly, or bi-weekly
## Steps
1. Write a brief phase overview (3–5 sentences per phase): Days 1–30 (learn the business, build relationships, understand tools and processes), Days 31–60 (begin contributing independently, complete core training, identify one process improvement), Days 61–90 (take full ownership of core responsibilities, set performance goals, operate without daily manager oversight).
2. Build a week-by-week breakdown for all 1
